Catch up... my little star

Rolitodream! by smallandround.

Sometimes we have to give ourselves the time to catch up to the stars or we're always lagging behind. Give yourself the time you need, but don't dilly dally today. The stars are fickle and don't wait for anyone. Catch up, get on track, and let the stars carry you away.

I just loved this work of art... made me think of my little star.

Home work, surprise visite and good cooking!

Did a bunch of work this week-end on the house. My brother Jeff was kind to give me help with that. we had a good weekend ahead. My Friday was of from work, i had the chance to ride the bike a little, it had been a month almost without a good ride on the road... god it was hard to see that we lose quickly all the training. My surprise was coming home i had more visit then expected, Claudia had decided to come help us out with the work of the weekend. What a sweet gesture. So, my brother and i finished the isolation of the basement and garage during the two days. It's gonna help me a lot with the heating bill this winter! it's crazy how i realize all the involvement that i have put over the last year in this project. no wonder why i was tired and "selfish" over that year. So much things were to be done. But today it's my training camp and my place... near the next step; the VVM project.

Isolation... it's finish.

Nice little muffins cooked on Sunday night to finish the good weekend.

That is it... my brain has started to think snow....

Robot ready...

OK ... it's coming fast, I know my bike season is getting close to a new training start for 2010 with many objectives for next year. More power... is mainly what i need. But that does not mean i'll stop riding. i plan on doing Jay every month of winter... a crazy idea. I'll see. But for sure i'll be riding Jay again this year, on the snow.

Absinthe Films, Neverland

Seeing the new teaser from Absinthe Films for the film Neverland just got me stoked on snow! Soon. riding, riding... It's a great teaser, love the song choice from The who - Baba O'riley. I wish i had a big LCD screen and watch the snow come to life under their boards.

I'll miss a riding partner this year, hope she has a good season. I wish you fun on the fish. Let's all have fun riding.

Lime was a beautiful color.

What a great idea... a Sunday ride, last ride at Burke.

This sunday was election day in Potton, a wind of change was about to turn on Mansonville as my friend Mr. Jacques Marcoux got elected as the new mayor of Potton. We decided, Claudia and me to go take a last ride in Burke "kingdom trails", well we did not know that we would hve the chance to ride the last day of the season. My friend Dan told me today. Sorry Dan for not calling, we decided last minute. I said lets go ... I'll go vote when we come back... the voting closes at 8 o'clock.

We did the regular loop. we took the time because it was just the second ride for my friend Claudia. There were lots of roots and little mud holes all over the place. We had a blast. My friend liked it a lot especially the " tap and die" and the Sidewinder. Yes, she did do the famous Sidewinder with a pleasure smile at the end. She is gonna be to watch for next season! With all the training she's doing... watch out! So big Bravo to you Claudia, especially doing all this with a bike l little to big for you.

See ya next year Burke... but i think we will go less and less to this place as we will have a "kingdom trails" of our own right here in Mansonville next year. Again Congratulation Mr. Marcoux! Hope to develop lots of project with you.

New pic-nic area on top of the "old web"

New church building just on the top of the "old web" witch is no longer the same.

Having fun! And you did do the sidewinder for the first time. Bravo!

Firewood #2....

I have taken the time to build a second firewood shed, this one was made from scrap wood left from the roofing crating and again leftover from the steel roof. This one will be further down my land. It will mainly be used for the wood of the "fire pit" More and more work is done all over the house and land, as the bike season is one the decline.

Firewood is gona be dry...

This week i had the chance to complete more work on the house project. I had steel roofing material leftover from the house roof. So i bought a couple of ruff 4x4, 2x4 and 1x6 wood to finish the project. So now i have a beautiful wood shed that fits the style of the house. I also did finish little parts of the finishing touch on the house ... it's long doing all the little details. More and more left will be done in the weeks to come. No wonder why i was exhausted last year after 6 months of construction.

Finishing the brown roofing.

It's done! i need to finish the exterior the same as the house.

The green wood on the house will be the same on the shed.

Officially... the 2009 race season is over... More next year.

My good homemade Thiforine™ Carbon MTB. Did work well all year.

Ok it's officially over my first bike race season is done! I decided to DNS the last race in Sherbrooke the QC CX championships. As my two partners are sick puppets of the last Cowansville race, I'll call it off. I'll go ride for fun instead.

With all the work done this week here on the house project, and also the job done at Mr Hébert's place in the village. I did the roofing of his house for three days. I also had a full-time job this week doing night shift at TVA, my regular job. So that's a lot... and no bike training in the last month. So DNS for Sunday.

I'm proud of my first year of racing. As my Garmin™ coming back from "Raid Bras du Nord" I've hung on all year with good steady performance. I saw the last 1/4 of the calender cut down short due to my bronchitis and then me slacking on the pace for the CX races. But still what a good first year it was! I'm proud. See ya in 2010.

The Garmin™ Edge 305 wanted to stay with us... did Qc -Trois-Rivières on the edge of the roof of the car ;) lucky me!

My good friend Dan Gerous always smiling at every opportunity! His race season also ends with a DNS.
